Google Docs Word Processing

Google Docs Word Processing is an interesting set of tools for almost all of your word processing needs. I liked the template section. That is a good idea and it helps getting started on topics such as resumes and cover letters. I still didn't like the time that the Google Docs would pick to perform editing and the time it took to do this. The functions that I liked best about the Google Docs is the history function. I used this to get back to a doc after messing up a few times on one of the assignments. That saved me from flipping out. Being able to share is a great function too! I found the Google Docs folder organization and overall file management to be very usable and functional. I liked the idea that the document could be held in more than one folder at a time. Overall, I really started to like the Google Docs Word Processing and I will probably use it in the future.

Google Docs Word Processor

I learned a great deal about the word processing capabilities in Google Docs. I liked the ease of adding pictures to the document and the use of note pad to type the text in first. I also found the sharing capability very interesting. I didn't like the time that it took the Google doc to update or edit the page while I was working on it.

Google Calendar

I learned that posting events in the calendar is fairly simple. I liked that fact that we can post more that 1 calendar and use them in groups just by clicking on them. I have used outlook and MSN calendars. I like the goolge calendar for the mentioned fact that many different calendar titles can be used, then all used together by clicking on them. Attached is my Google calendar image.

My iGoogle

iGoogle is a page that you can customize to your likes and needs. It allows the user to arrange the functions in an order that is user frendly to that particular person. From the iGoogle page you can see your emails, chat, get updates on news, weather, movie times, and just about anything else that interests you. It also allows collaboration. My iGoogle page has a motorcycle on the image. this is my wife's bike (anniverary gift). I posted this image because this is one thing that I enjoy. I believe that this page will be useful to me by allowing me to use it as a home base from which to operate my computer needs.

My Gmail

My gmail account and I are still just getting acquainted. I like the gmail account thus far because its easy to manage. I have been able to get the tasks listed and displayed and have been able to create the Cloud Computing folder for storing my class emails in. I like that function. I also like the fact that we can customize the background. that's cool. That is also a difference from my other email carriers. I am going to give the gmail a fair try and use this as my new primary email. I have attached the image of my gmail page.

Cloud Computing Introduction

I took the Cloud Computing Course because it looked interesting when my counselor introduced me to it.

I found out about this course from my counselor.

I have learned how to get my Gmail going and a little more about the google site so far.

The advantages of cloud computing seem to be the ability to have the information easily accessible for collaboration work.

So far I don't see the disadvantages of cloud computing.

I am looking forward to learning all about cloud computing. I am hoping to be able to answer in greater detail upon course completion.
